Akashichem Sdn Bhd has contributed RM50,000 as a Diamond Sponsor in support of Penang's Charity Dinner and Art Auction fundraising initiative aimed at strengthening sports development in the state. The contribution will be channelled to the Penang State Sports Council's (MSNPP) Sports Development Fund to enhance athlete welfare, training quality, and overall preparation for future competitions, including the upcoming 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA).
The contribution was announced during a press conference held at Stadium Jalan Betek, Bukit Mertajam, attended by State Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, MSNPP director Harry Chai, Akashichem Sdn Bhd Managing Director Andrew Loo, and Cavalier Capital Holdings CEO Dato' Roland Choong Tae Kwon.
Andrew expressed his hope to see Penang athletes grow from local talents into globally competitive sports figures. He emphasised that strong collaboration between the corporate sector and sports institutions is essential in building a sustainable and high-performing sports ecosystem.
The inaugural Gala Dinner and Art Auction Fundraising Event will take place on May 9 at the Grand Ballroom of the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, George Town. The initiative also encourages greater participation from corporations, organisations, and individuals in supporting Penang’s long-term sports development vision.
